Friday 6th October saw Bristol Baseball Club’s annual awards dinner, this year held at The University Literary Club in Clifton and also celebrating 15 years of Bristol Baseball Club. Over 50 club members and their guests attended the dinner in total, and a delicious meal and fun night was had by all.
As well as the fabulous food, fun and frivolity, the night also saw the presentation of the various end of year awards in recognition of both statistical success, development and off-field commitment to the club.
This year’s award recipients are listed below, with Badgers shortstop Mattia Papini leading the way – nearly sweeping the hitting categories and taking team MVP. Strong seasons for Michael Comport and Josh Boulton of the Bats, Sam Stainsby of the Brunels and Paul Blackburn of the Buccaneers were also commemorated, along with many other individual performances including Rookie of the Year, Sam Kaiser.
