Friday 6th October saw Bristol Baseball Club’s annual awards dinner, this year held at The University Literary Club in Clifton and also celebrating 15 years of Bristol Baseball Club. Over 50 club members and their guests attended the dinner in total, and a delicious meal and fun night was had by all.
It was a tough weekend for Bristol Baseball Club with the Badgers, Bats and Brunels all losing their double headers on Sunday.
The Badgers’ 13-4 victory in the first match of their BBF AAA double header against Essex Redbacks on Sunday has kept their playoff hopes alive. The Bristol team leapt out to an early 7-0 lead with shortstop Mattia Papini leading the way with two hits, three runs and two runs driven in.
Bristol Brunels out hit the New Forest Thunder Knights on Sunday but eventually went down 12-5 and 8-7 in their BBF/SWWBL A double header.
Outfielder Ed Smith’s crucial late heroics at the plate kickstarted Bristol Buccaneers’ victory in the first game of their double header against Cardiff Merlins II at Somerdale Pavilion on Sunday.
