Three of Bristol Baseball Club’s teams will be in action in the British Baseball Federation’s national playoffs this weekend. It will be the first time in the club’s history that this many teams will appear on the national stage in one season.
On Sunday, the Badgers will welcome Liverpool Trojans to Somerdale Pavilion for the semi final of the BBF AAA Championship. The Trojans, who won the BBL Higher Division, will be making their first appearance at Somerdale.
The winners will advance to the three-game Championship Series which will be held on the 14th and 15th September at Farnham Park.
Also on Sunday the Bats travel to Hemel Hempstead to take on the Richmond Dragons in the quarter finals of the BBF AA Championship after winning their regular season division.
On Saturday, the Buccaneers will face local rivals the Weston Jets in the quarter finals of the BBF A Championship at Somerdale Pavilion.
All games at Somerdale start at 12 noon and spectators are free to attend.
“It has been a fantastic season for the club on and off the field and we are preparing hard for the challenges that we will face this weekend and beyond,” said Rhodri Theaker, the club’s chairman. “I want to thank all the players for their commitment this season as well as our volunteers who umpire, score and coaches who work hard to develop the club.”
