Bristol Brunels took a firmer grip on a playoff place with their sweep of New Forest Knights on Sunday. in Hampshire. They are now four games ahead of the Knights who are currently third with four home games left including two against the New Forest team
The Brunels took the first game 13-3 through a combination of great hitting and an inspired pitching performance by Rohan Ninawe. Ninawe struck out seven Knights batters over his complete game performance from the mound.

First baseman, Charlie Ricketts and centre fielder Tom Cross starred with the bat with five hits and four runs driven in between them. Ricketts also hit a big double to right field as the Brunels scored heavily in each inning.
The second game was a little closer but the Brunels proved too strong and won 13-8. Ninawe and Ben Monnox led the Brunels’ offense, driving in six runs to support pitchers Ryan Harris and Ricketts.

“This was a really good team performance at a crucial time in the season against a team close to us in the standings,” said manager Ryan Harris. “The whole team has got us into second place because of the work they put in on the training field.”
On Deck: Next weekend the Bristol Bats return to action against Taunton Muskets in Somerset while the Buccaneers welcome the Cornish Claycutters to Somerdale Pavilion.
