Earlier this year we lost a friend and member of Bristol Baseball Club, Greg Roscow, to his struggles with mental health issues, and would therefore like to do something fun and silly, something he would have very much loved, to raise money for a charity helping people like him.
We would like to raise money for Mental Health UK by hosting a charity tournament where people can dress up silly if they wish or just come to play a bit of friendly baseball. We are aiming to do this on Sunday 27th September however we are aware British weather isn’t always on our side so our rain day will be Saturday 3rd October. If it turns out we can’t play this year, your place at the tournament will be carried over to a sunnier date early next year!
Suggested donation of £5 to secure your place as a player and once you have done so please email molly.willcox@bristolbaseball.co.uk with the following details: Name, Address, Phone number, club you play for (if any).
We would be happy to accept individual players, existing teams or a combination to take part in this special day. The deadline for submitting your donation and expression to play is the end of Sunday 20th September.
At Bristol Baseball Club we have ensured that we are adhering to all covid-19 restrictions put in place by the BBF and have extra cleaning facilities available to make it safe to play baseball again. These guidelines will also be set out in the confirmation email of your place to play and on the day.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind people that it’s ok not to be ok and to ask for help. Charities like Mental Health UK exist to help you and remind you of the same thing.
