Players from Bristol Baseball Club’s teams will be involved in over 90 games this coming season.

The Badgers will be up against BC Vetra, SW Rebeldes and Bournemouth Bears in the British Baseball Federation’s (BBF) AAA South West Division, which is one level below the National Baseball League.

The club’s top team kick off their season on Sunday 25th April with a friendly against Worcester Sorcerers at Somerdale Pavilion in Keynsham before taking on the Bournemouth Bears on Sunday 9th May.

The Bats, Buccaneers and the Brunels will be in the South West SWBL/BBF A Division and as well as local derbies, they will play against teams from Bournemouth, Cardiff, Cornwall, Weston-super-Mare, and Taunton.

The three teams start their league campaigns on Sunday 16th May.

The Bristol Bobcats, the club’s women’s team, have six weekends of baseball in the BBF National Women’s League and will be taking on teams from Sheffield, Cambridge, London and Slough.

The Bobcats games are on Saturdays with the first taking place on 22nd May.

All the games will be played under the BBF National Covid Guidelines and the club has put in place a series of guidelines for its players.

“Its going to be great to be back playing after the difficult year we have all had because of the pandemic,” said Rhodri Theaker, the club’s head coach. “Our off season has gone so well that we have been able to add a brand new team at A level as well as pushing the Badgers up to AAA.

“Whilst we will undoubtedly be having a lot of fun, we have set all our teams specific targets for 2021 which will include bringing home some silverware.”

The regular season runs until the end of August with the playoffs and finals being held during the first two weeks of September.

The club is also holding a charity event on Sunday 26th September and the first ever Bristol Baseball Tournament over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd October.
