In a cold, but fun-filled afternoon, the Bats defeated the New Forest Thunder yesterday in a preseason friendly by a score of 12-5. Bats player/manager Tim Singiser had this to say about his team’s performance on the field today:

“We had a great game today and it was wonderful seeing quite a few new faces on the Bats. Everyone contributed well today and the results show that. I’m very excited going into the season with this group and now it’s on to the training ground to continue preparations.”

MVP for the game, Sean Wilkins pitched three scoreless innings in the win and was a foot short of hitting a home run. “It felt great to be back. Couldn’t really have hoped for a better outing. [I] managed to limit walks and good results followed! The rest of the team played really well today. Looking forward to playing the rest of the season with this group.”

Next up: In two weeks time, the Brunels take on the Taunton Pistols at Somerdale in the final preseason matchup before opening day.
