Bristol Badgers maintained their 100% start to the season by overwhelming Stourbridge Titans
at Somerdale Pavilion.

The Badgers swept the Titans 28-2 and 10-1 in the team’s first home double header of the 2018 BBF AA Central campaign.

Third baseman Pär Eliasson and outfielders Vil Katinas and Rhian Theaker were the stars of the first game as the Badgers offense took control from the first inning.

Eliasson drove in four runs, Theaker drove in five while Katinas smashed a three run, 325 ft home run over the left field fence.

The second game was tighter but was dominated by a stellar, debut pitching performance by Justinas Raupenas, who struck out 13 Titans over seven innings.

Katinas continued to pummel the Titans’ pitching second time around, collecting four hits and four RBIs.

“It was a very solid batting performance by everyone and we were delighted to keep the momentum going in our first home game,” said club coach Rhodri Theaker. “There are obviously things we need to sharpen up on but we will be training hard to make sure we sort them out.”

Next week, the  Badgers travel to Leicester to take on the Blue Sox, while the Bristol Bats host St Austell Claycutters in the SWBL after a week off.
