2012 Sport Relief Challenge

Bristol Baseball Club was pleased to help BBC Bristol presenter Ben Prater complete a “24 sports in 24 hours” challenge. We invited him out to our diamond in Failand where he tried several of baseball’s key skills!

We’ve got all the information, including some photos, on our feature page about the challenge – just click here to read more.

Calling all baseball players in the Bristol area

As we progress through indoor training, hearing the sound of bat on ball again has been the surest sign of spring. Our Badgers team is shaping up and will open with 10 league doubleheader Sundays in the first 11 weekends of the season.

Our Bats team will be playing a less demanding schedule in that they will likely play every 2 to 3 weeks, thus easing the committment for those of us with families and/or weekend jobs. A series of games against Torbay and Plymouth baseball clubs are being arranged for our Bats team as we hope to grow baseball in the Southwest.

If you have not come to indoor training but you would still like to try out for the Badgers team please get in touch with us. We have to choose our squad in early April as our season starts Sunday 15th April, so if you want to play it is not too late.

If you prefer a more casual schedule without the committment of a league, or you are a beginner to baseball and want to develop your game, again please let us know. Our Bats team is perfect for players looking for a fun,  competitive environment on a less demanding schedule.
